1.Have long-term goals

Every month or quarter set goals, and then review regularly and assess how things are going. It will give you a chance to see what is working, what can be outsourced, where you need investment or if you are on track with achieving something you personally aimed for when you started your business.

2. Review your activities

Start by creating a list of all the things you do as part of your business and put EVERYTHING on it. And then assess which activities support your monthly, quarterly and annual goals and those that perhaps do nothing for your business. Consider the things that have to be done (like accounts) but could be better delegated to another person, or those things where your skills are essential, and you need to be directly involved.

3. Focus on your priorities

Once you have a list of all the things you need to do, look at what needs to be done urgently, within a reasonable timeframe, and those just at some point in time. Then consider what tasks you can delegate or outsource or if you need to recruit support in-house. Next, focus on the highest priority tasks that need your attention. Planning your time and focusing will help you be more organised on a day-to-day basis.

4. Plan your time

Make the most of an online calendar, linked to your phone to plan meetings, book appointments and note important dates. It will also help you manage your commitments to your customers as you will know how long jobs take and what availability you have to commit to them and what deadlines are pending. 5. Organise your workspace

From organising your computer files so that you can find documents easily, to making sure that your filing system is simple and managed on a regular basis will help keep your operations running smoothly and with less stress.
